High Country Wins Fake Award

12/19/2007

High Country Outfitters was nominated for, and subsequently won, the "Best Holiday Display in Atlanta and, Possibly, the World Award"*. High Country accepted this prestigious award at the annual meeting of the Atlanta Mountaineering and Surf Club*.

The display, which consists of a High Country bus hung with stockings (with care, mind you), Christmas Tree, The North Face Tent, Frosty the Snowman in an AIRE Raft, and Reindeer in Jackson Kayaks, can be seen on Roswell Rd in the parking lot in front of High Country. The bus is one in a fleet of High Country buses used to shuttle people and rafts along the Ocoee River in Tennessee.

Often being used in Christmas displays, Frosty commented on his current job: "This is by far the best holiday job I've had. Granted, it was a bit warm when I first started; the weather has certainly started dropping to more comfortable temperatures for me."

It is advised that the best viewing can be had at night when the lights are on, and for the best outdoor gear and advice, to stop in the store.

About High Country Outfitters: High Country Outfitters has been supplying Atlanta with the best outdoor gear, apparel, and instruction since 1975. High Country also operates an outpost on the Ocoee River in Tennessee known as High Country Adventures.

*To High Country's knowledge, neither the Best Holiday Display in Atlanta and, Possibly, the World Award nor the Atlanta Mountaineering and Surf Club exist. If the fabrication of this story to show pictures of High Country's wicked awesome Christmas display bothers you, we recommend you get a life: go climbing, backpacking, paddling (if you're lucky enough to have water), or fishing. Travel to some far off destination and have an adventure. Get outside and enjoy life.
